In Yoga, the "Big Day" is every day. Preparing for a life together can be a stressful endeavor. Using yoga in preparation for and maintenance of a healthy relationship is the basis of an AZIAM Yoga Wedding. Alanna custom designs a Yogic journey for the couple leading up to their Big Day. In addition, Alanna is ordained to officiate the wedding if that aligns with the desires of the nuptial couple.
The Sanskrit work "Yoga" translates "Union". Following the Hindu wedding tradition "Saptapadi", or "Seven Steps", AZIAM intends to create a strong foundation for a yogic life together. Each step focuses on seven different principles of a healthy relationship: respect, trust, sharing, commitment, sacrifice, health, and dharma. Within the scope of the yoga session, the couples will practice giving and receiving, nonverbal communication, meditating, as well as the practice of yoga. They will learn how to adjust each other's postures, as well as learning some Thai massage basics.
The benefits of such practices are endless; including an increase of trust, respect, silent love, comfort and understanding, to name a few. Similar to one's personal yoga practice, the principles practiced transcend into one's life, or in this case, into one's relationship and marriage.
